MAKE SURE YOU LOOK OVER HOW TO ANSWER THE BIG QUESTIONS ON PAPER TWO! (the “how far do you agree with” question)
YOU WILL BE GIVEN A STATEMENT FROM ONE OF THE SOURCES
YOU WILL BE ASKED HOW FAR YOU AGREE WITH IT
GIVE YOUR OPINION, USING ALL THE SOURCES AND YOUR REVISION, TO BACK IT UP!
Basically, talk about all the sources.... your answering ‘what does each source say? (you must talk about every source in your answer)
‘Why does the source have that opinion?’
‘Using my revision, what I know about the topic, how far do I agree with this source?’
Then conclude by answering ‘so overall, how far do I agree with the statement?’
YOU DON’T TALK ABOUT USEFULNESS OR RELIABILITY
MAKE SURE TO USE ALL THE SOURCES IN THE ‘HOW FAR DO YOU AGREE WITH’ QUESTION
SHOW HOW THE CONTENT OF EACH SOURCE AGREES OR DISAGREES WITH THE STATEMENT
EXPLAIN WHY EACH SOURCE HAS THAT PARTICULAR OPINION (ARE THEY BIASED? WOULD THEY LACK INFORMATION THAT OTHER SOURCES DO HAVE)
THEN USE YOUR OWN REVISION.
COME TO A CONCLUSION
THE END!
NOW.... FIND WHAT ‘ICEVOK’ STANDS FOR BELOW
YOU'LL FIND OTHER TIPS BELOW - READ THEM!!!!!!!
HERE'S A CHECKLIST OF WHAT YOU MUST KNOW! IF YOU CAN'T ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS, YOU'RE NOT READY FOR THE EXAM! (IF YOU CAN ANSWER THEM ALL, KEEP GOING! LEARN AS MUCH AS YOU CAN ABOUT EACH!)

To be thoroughly prepared for your GCSE paper, you can read a bit more about the causes of the Cold War here and the Soviet takeover of Eastern Europe here. It's also worth taking a look at this short video on Kennan's "Long Telegram" (which I don't cover in my video).
A nice little overview, with all the key dates, can be found here.
